The Mysterious Benedict Society

Every once in awhile I love to wander through the children's section in the library and randomly pick up some books I've never heard of that sound interesting and take them home and be surprised.
My most recent find was 'The Mysterious Benedict Society' by Trenton Lee Stewart.
It was a fun read, kept you curious until the end and you came to love all the quirky characters and I was quite sad to leave them by the end. But I wont give too much away as to keep it a mystery. ;)

Currently I'm reading through the Lemony Snicket books, Little Dorrit, Mansfield Park, and a lovely book of Keat's poetry.

What are you reading?

How I adore children's books! Or, the good ones, fully quirky-like illustrated & everything, at least. ;)

I've been meaning to read Bleak House and Little Dorrit...I must get around to them soon. I have several girlfriends who have learned so much from the Captivating book too...

right now I'm reading Adam Bede, by George Eliot (and it's quite interesting; her style is like a less dramatic Bronte sister.) I just picked up The Princess Bride from the library too; it was recommended to me many times...

Good reads!

And yes, children's books are the best. I really want to read that book you were talking about um.....the one that Moonacre is based on?

Yes, that is a good way to describe George Eliots style! I have only read one of her books. It was called Silas Marner. I loved it. Very different but very good!
Ha ha! I've always wanted to read The Princess Bride. We have watched that movie so many times...well, really, who hasn't? :)

I picked this book up at Borders a few months ago because the cover really sparked my curiosity ( I love things like that) but I put it back on the shelf and didn't buy it because I had an unfortunate lack of funds. How glad I am to have stumbled across it again...must be a sign, eh?[ :
I shall now try to find it at the library!
God Bless!

I've read three of these so far and I can't wait for more! I just grabbed the first one on a whim and was surprised at just how much I loved it.

I love the Mysterious Benedict Society! Did you know it's part of a three-part series? (And I have a suspicion, there's going to be more...)
